Las Vegas is awesome! We were first here in June 2000 and thought, that within two days we would see everything. Wrong! Even this year (and we spent six nights there) we still haven't seen it all. Well ... we saw the Fremont Street Experience, attended an Aaron Tippin concert at Sam's Town, went to the Star Trek Experience and talked to real Klingons and were then beamed onto the Enterprise, saw Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, won US$ 29 at a Nickel-slotmachine, listened to an Elvis imitator at MGM Grand, saw a white tiger and an erupting vulcano at the Mirage, went up the (replica) Eiffel Tower, saw beautiful fountains at the Bellagio, got a new pet (which is in fact a stuffed animal) at Build-A-Bear-Workshop, watched the Atlantis show at Ceasars Palace after we had an US$ 71.44 dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, ate 10 donuts (together of course) at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for breakfast, spoke to many locals (the people are so nice there, and they give you lots of advice on where to eat and what to see) ... the list goes on and on. But one thing is for sure: Las Vegas hasn't seen the last of us. We will be back! The following pictures are only a small selection of the 17 rolls of film we took. Our trip (from May 23, 2001 until June 2, 2001) started in Hollywood (where we stayed for half a day), we then drove to Las Vegas, stayed there for two days at the Golden Nugget, and travelled on through Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park and Capitol Reef National Park. After visiting Salt Lake City we ended our journey with an extended stay in Las Vegas. |

The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino - incredible! Gondolas (with singing gondoliers) take you under bridges, beside cafes, under balconies and through the vibrant Venetian streetscape. |

New York New York Hotel & Casino Las Vegas is located right next to the Excalibur and the MGM Grand. The Manhattan Express roller coaster, with heights of 203 feet, drops of 144 feet and speeds up to 67 mpH, features some pretty scary twist and dive maneuvers - at least it looks like that from the outside. We still haven't made it onto this one. |

Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino features "Shark Reef" - where visitors can see aquatic animals and fish from the world's tropical waters. Shark Reef takes visitors on a journey through an ancient temple that has been slowly claimed by the sea and a sunken galleon ship where sharks lurk in the water. |

May 30, 2001 -- After shopping at WalMart (hence the shopping bags) we had to return our Chrysler LHS - the best rental car we drove so far - at the Luxor Hotel self parking garage. We drove 1591 miles in 7 days. Dollar Rent A Car |

We had an excellent stay at the Luxor Hotel. The Tower Rooms are very comfortable, and cheap. We stayed from May 29, 2001 until June 2, 2001 and paid just US$ 69 room charge per night, with the exception of the last night (which was a Friday night), when we paid US$ 129.
